If you are seeking a different adventure, there are sixteen covered bridge caches between Erie County Pennsylvania and Ashtabula County Ohio.
These bridges are a mix of old, historical structures and new, modern bridges. The 613 foot Smolen Gulf Bridge was constructed in 2008 and is one of the largest covered bridges in the world. The 228 foot Harpersfield Bridge was constructed in 1898. The Harpersfield Bridge and the Wiswell Road Covered Bridge in Windsor, Ohio are both on the National Register of Historic Places.
